Hello, Hola, Nin Hao, Bonjour, Namaste, Salaam, SSA*… and Welcome to this blog!

This is my first blog post ever. Although logically it is no big deal, it still feels like a big step – and I confess I’ve been agonizing over what to say. Well, let’s get down to it. To keep things simple, I would like to share my goals about the who, what and why of this blog.

Who is it for? It’s no fun writing and publishing a blog if no one would ever read it. So first of all, this blog is for you, dear reader. And certainly it is also for me. I have a desire to start writing about topics that I’m passionate about, and hopefully you will find the content useful. If yes, do let me know! If not, do let me know, gently!! 🙂

What is it about? I’m going to focus mainly on health, fitness and wellness topics, with an emphasis on hydration. That said, at times I may decide to write about something totally different if I get all fired up about it! Going back to the health and hydration focus for now, this blog is based on the following beliefs:

  • Health is truly Wealth. Taking care of our physical, mental, and emotional health deserves at least as much attention as our checking, saving, and retirement accounts.
  • Health is more than absence of disease. When we are healthy, we live in an energized state that allows us to pursue our goals with passion and vigor. Being healthy enables us to focus on our deepest aspirations, experience life to the fullest, and achieve results that make us happier, healthier, and wealthier.
  • Health is directly dependent on hydration and nutrition. It is scientifically proven that our bodies are more than 50% water, and absorption and assimilation of all nutrients occurs via the medium of water. Therefore hydration is absolutely foundational to health, and from a practical perspective of the physical factors that individuals can control, I believe that health begins with hydration.

And Why this blog? Here are the main motivations. I wish to develop, share, curate, and promote practical nuggets of understanding about health that can be useful to others. While there is a wealth of information out there on the internet about every conceivable topic, unfortunately there is much junk and confusion too. I hope to make a difference, no matter how small, by contributing to the above-mentioned wealth. However, there is also a “lazy” part of me that has been reluctant to spend the time and effort required to regularly write such content, and to keep on learning about new health insights from science and medical research. Therefore publishing this blog publicly is partly a psychological stick to push myself towards my writing goals, partly a potential carrot of doing something good while promoting business, and partly a desire to connect with like-minded individuals.

So that’s it for this first blog post! If you would like to be periodically notified of future posts, please signup for the monthly newsletter!

Wishing you happiness and health,

Vick Wadhwa
